We put the call out, and many answered. On Saturday, October 16, over 60 volunteers showed up at the Cedar Park YMCA to help pack nearly 9,000 meals. Northwest Austin purchased raw materials from The Outreach Program, and with the help of area Rotary members and community volunteers, nearly 7,000 packaged meals were prepared.

Northwest Austin Rotary Club purchased from HopeAustin food to provide an additional 2,000 weekend meals to students who lose their subsidized meals offered during the school week.

Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, our communities, and ourselves.

HopeAustin ensures the brightest future for our children and the broader community by ensuring they have every opportunity to learn and thrive. They rely entirely upon donations and volunteers; the organization provides six meals to 1,200 students in the Austin area every weekend of the school year.

The Outreach Program is to provide safe water, food, medical care, and education to those in need, at home and abroad. The Outreach Program is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation that organizes food packaging events across the US, Canada, and supporting countries, to keep carrying out its mission.
